The Grosse Pointe Woods City Council approved the miniature golf course design on August 20, 2018. Weather and newly-revealed requirements for soil-erosion permitting have imposed unanticipated delays, but the course should be ready for play in Summer 2019!

Get in the game!

In late 2015 the Grosse Pointe Woods City Council approved the Foundation’s concept of building a miniature golf course in Lake Front Park. The Foundation will fund and oversee installation, with the course to be owned and managed by the City. To our understanding, the City intends to charge a fee for play to minimize net cost.

The miniature golf course will be a fun, outdoor activity for Grosse Pointe Woods residents and their guests from spring to fall. It will be enjoyed by pre-school children to senior citizens, whether with families, friends, or in recreational leagues. The design will include nine contiguous handicap-accessible holes. A nautical theme will be enhanced by a lighthouse and other features. Landscaped gardens around the course perimeter will be designed and planted by members of our city's Beautification Commission. The course will be located adjacent to the Activities building in Lake Front Park, providing restroom, snack and beverage machines, and a comfortable viewing area.

During the spring and summer of 2018 we worked closely with city administration to finalize site, design, and elements. Our mutually agreed upon plans were approved by city council on Monday, August 20, 2018. With this approval the Foundation entered a contractual agreement with the course builder for installation in Spring 2019.

Your support of the mini golf course will provide many hours of fun recreation to Grosse Pointe Woods citizens and their guests of all ages. All sponsorships of $200 and above will receive permanent recognition at the course site; higher level sponsorships will have more prominent display.
